Gig for the Olympics

On the 27th of July I'm going to be performing a 2hour set for the Olympic Event @ the Hardwicke Arms in Arrington!
(for more information on where the hardwicke arms is or what is happening visit www.hardwickearms.co.uk)

I will be performing a mix of cover songs and my own original material! SO! Don't be afraid to come in and listen!

See you there! :)

Taking suggestions for original songs! :)

For the past four years I have been writing and performing cover songs, and I have learned cover songs that people have suggested.

BUT!! Now I want a suggestion for a song that I have not written yet! I would LOVE to be able to write a song for someone, or about something that you might wanna hear!

SO please let me know and I will get on that ASAP! (Also!) I am going to make a plan to obtain a Ukulele because I love the sound of them and I think it will give me new inspiration!!!

Facebook me @ www.facebook.com/groups/mollychenoa if you have any song ideas for me! And visit my youtube for new songs! (mollychenoafisher)

Should I get an official website or not?

Dancing around the idea of getting myself an official website... and also dancing around the idea of just buying my own domain ... hmm.... obviously that would be so much better! But until then just wanted to post out to anyone who has just stumbled on my blog - don't be afraid to check out all my stuff @

www.facebook.com/groups/mollychenoa (events)
(and of course you are on my blog right now!)

See how much easier it would be if I had one offical website? Then I could have everything pulled into the one place! :'(

SO MUCH EASIER! xD

Monday 2 July 2012

So this summer I am going to make sure to put in a lot more effort to upload my music and keep you all updated! So today (with the amaaazing help of my younger sister Robyn! If you wanna see more of her incredible photography check out her deviant art page: RobynGemma) we started my first music video!

We're creating the video for my new song: "He was gone" I dont think there is a video of this song online YET - but I am going to be performing it at the open mic night this Saturday! So come down and check that out! <3
So yeah, the video is going to be very much out doors, I wanted it to have kind of an Alice in Wonderland mood to it! Robyn and I will be filming a lot of stuff over at the Heath in Royston, and we filmed out first days worth in our front garden!

I obviously want to make sure the video is really good before I upload it, but it should be online for everyone to view in a couple weeks! (BUT I AM VERY EXCITED!)

The other reason I wanted to blog you guys tonight is to let you know that I think I might try putting together a couple (meaning about 12) tracks onto a CD - recorded via the microphone I have at home. Obviously it would be mainly acoustic songs and the sound quality would only be what you hear on my youtube videos, but it would give you guys chance to have a CD of my songs (inbetween the wait for my actual album to come out!) Lemme know if that sounds like a plan and I will put that idea together ASAP!

Just realised these blogs are a great way for me to come up with these ideas!

Also I have FINALLY figured out what the name of my album is going to be: Still Original.

"Molly Chenoa - Still Original" this has also given me inspiration to come out with a song under the same title!

SO until next time - keep on smiling like it never happened! <3

What's happening this summer!?

So this summer one of the main things I would LOVE to do is a lot more gigging! AND so that is going to be my main focus! At the moment I am trying to get hold of the manager of the Green Man in Royston and hopefully soon I will be setting up another performance at the Hardwicke arms in Arrington as the performance was a really positive experience!

(Let me know if you know any other good venues around! I am searching and trying to come up with anywhere and everywhere!)

But its all looking very positive! Also during the summer I am looking at continuing with my album and setting up an official website - so I can group all my videos, events, blogs, and news together! (which will be a lot simpler!!)

So what do you guys have to look forward to???

- More gigs!
- My album (and E.P of demos)
- Molly Chenoas offical website!

THESE ARE MY GOALS! :)

(Cannot wait for this summer to start so I can put these things into place!) Thanks again for all the support!

Because of you guys I have reached 100 people in my group and 45 videos uploaded to my youtube! (www.youtube.com/mollychenoafisher)

I'll keep you posted on my upcoming gigs! <3

See you on the 7th! :) <3
How did I get to where I am? :O
(Thats deep man...)

One thing that I hear from time to time is, how did you start writing music? And really it was an amazing mix of practise and determination.
From the age where I could write and put actual sentences together I started writing poems for people. Literally I would give people these things everyday! (they'll tell you how annoying it was I'm sure! hehe!) :) And I think because I was constantly writing them, it gave me the practise for writing lyrics and rhyming words together from a very early age.

I've been writing songs for the past four years now, maybe even five! (I keep saying four but now it might be longer!) When I was in first school I had keyboard and then piano lessons and continued to play and practise piano for several years. In year seven I came out of public education and was home educated with my younger sister for four years until I started college in 2010.

When I was fifteen I picked up an old nylon string classic guitar that was lying around the house and I taught myself how to play. Basically I printed off a couple chords on-line and spent the next couple weeks painfully strumming away until it sounded... better? I wrote my first song the day I picked it up and haven't stopped since! (to be fair - even before I was writing songs with the guitar I was writing music on the keyboard using an old Yamaha)

The most important thing when I think about writing my own music and performing it for people is that I remember what I'm doing it for. Of course I love sharing it with everyone who wants to hear me (thats absolutely amazing!) , but I always try and remember how I'm not out to win anything. My music is simply my way of expressing whatever might be happening at the time I pick up Rascal!! :)

FYI - I have two guitars. I got my first guitar for the Christmas after I started teaching myself! She is a classic - and her name is "Maggie" (she makes an appearance in the "hold me up again" video on my youtube)

And I got the second for my seventeenth birthday from a Cash converters in Stevenage - he is an acoustic guitar called Rascal.

I <3 them both very much!

So yeah! This is my first blog and I hope to write every week to let you guys know whats happening and what's going on! Obviously I do tend to ramble on about whatever comes into my head! But stop me if I get boring! :)

The main thing I want you to get out of these blogs, is so you know a bit more about me! Obviously I know most of you, and the people who are close to me know how crazy and ditsy I am! So check it out as I should be updating it once a week from now on!

AND check out my youtube - theres an amaaaazing new track out that was recorded and produced by a fellow college student: Harrison Ballard!
